Setting Up Botiki on Your Website

After generating your Botiki widget, you'll receive a personalized <script> tag. Just place it inside the <head> of your HTML file.

Botiki requires your site to be served from a proper web server environment. It will not work if you're opening an HTML file directly via file:// in your browser.

This is due to browser security policies that block cross-origin requests when files are not served over HTTP or HTTPS.

To test your chatbot locally, use any of these methods:

  • python -m http.server (Python built-in server)
  • Live Server extension in VS Code
  • Apache or Nginx (via XAMPP, MAMP, or similar)

Once your site is hosted or served locally through one of these methods, your Botiki assistant will come alive.
